Over the holidays, my wife and I watched the entire first season of the ABC show Eli Stone. Aside from being a wonderfully written show with complex, complicated characters, it's a textbook story of a character following his call to adventure and getting tested every step of the way.
Eli is a hotshot legal eagle in a powerful corporate firm who suddenly starts seeing visions of George Michael singing songs inspiring him to a higher purpose. Needless to say, he refuses the call but starts to trust his visions are being delivered to serve the greater good. With legal maneuvering as a backdrop, the quirky show explores the challenges of the modern world in embracing faith, sacrifice and commitment to a more meaningful life. And like the best of real life, it balances a lot of humor with the drama.
For inspiring entertainment, check out the first season through Netflix or Blockbuster.
